Handheld maker Handspring on Tuesday promoted Chief Operating Officer Ed Colligan to the additional role of president, replacing Donna Dubinsky in that position. Dubinsky remains the company's chief executive officer. Dubinsky, Colligan and Jeff Hawkins co-founded Handspring in 1998.
"As part of the core executive team, Ed Colligan has been instrumental in developing Handspring's operations and business strategy since the company's inception," Dubinsky said in a statement. Prior to helping start Handspring, Colligan was vice president of marketing from 1993 to 1998 for what was then 3Com's Palm Computing.
