As part of Vivid Sydney, photographers have the chance to get their hands on a range of new cameras and accessories at this weekend's Digital Playground.
Between 31 May and 2 June, the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay in Sydney will be transformed into a photographer's playground as part of the annual Vivid festival. Canon and Nikon will have a strong presence at the event, which is free to attend, though some events require registration.
Canon's presence will give photographers a first look at the monster telephoto EF 200-400mm f/4 lens, which features an internal extender. Visitors can also take part in the Photo5Live challenge, based around the popular Photo5 competition that runs every year. There will be five briefs held across the three days from Friday to Sunday, with winners of each taking home a Canon 6D kit and a Pixma Pro-10 printer.
At Nikon's stand, visitors will be able to check out a whole range of gear, including the new Coolpix A. There will also be a series of workshops over the weekend covering wireless camera functions, a life moments class and a time-lapse tutorial. Places are limited, so you do need to register to attend.
A dedicated Ted's Cameras pop-up store will open in the cargo hold area of the terminal for photographers to buy a range of imaging equipment over the weekend.
After you're done lusting over gear, there will also be plenty of photography exhibits to inspect. Details of the exhibitions and schedules are on the Digital Playground website.
