This is an update of a deal I wrote about last month. I'm running it again because the price is significantly lower -- and it was already a great deal back then.

I think all-in-one PCs are ideal for kitchens, dens, and other rooms where you want a desktop-style PC without the chunky, often ugly tower and runaway cord-clutter. And if it happens to spruce up the place in the process, so much the better.

This one definitely does: While supplies last, DealFisher has the Vizio CA24T-B0 24-inch all-in-one desktop for $649.99 shipped. It's new, not refurbished, and has a list price of $1,279.99. Last time around, it was priced at $799.99.

This is about as modern as desktop PCs come. The shiny silver keyboard and touchpad are both wireless, while the shiny silver subwoofer doubles as the power supply -- a cleverly disguised clutter reducer. Cooler still, the monitor can double as a TV (when you connect an HDMI source), and Vizio even supplies a remote for that purpose.

Unlike a lot of AIOs, this one packs serious power under its tiny hood: AMD A10 quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and a 24-inch touch screen with a built-in Webcam and 1,920x1,080-pixel native resolution.

CNET hasn't reviewed this model, but praised the older CA24T-A4 for everything except the price. (No question: the $1,249 list price was steep.) PC Magazine, for its part, gave this B0 model four stars and called it "a great PC for anyone who wants to reduce their gadget clutter by using the PC as both computer and television."

I want one of these in the worst way, though I think Mrs. Cheapskate would have me killed if I bring another PC into the house. For now I guess I'll just have to drool from afar. Your thoughts?

Bonus deal: Talk about an oldie but goodie: Barnes & Noble is clearing out what I expect is the last of its older tablet inventory, offering the certified preowned Nook Tablet for $59 shipped. It features a 7-inch display, 8GB of expandable storage, and a one-year warranty. Although this model doesn't give you access to the Google Play store like the newer Nooks, you can easily root it to run Android proper -- and for as little as 10 bucks. This is a criminally good deal.
