Surprise! This Sceptre TV isn't refurbished, nor does it require you to mess with rebates. Plus, it has the connectivity options of TVs costing way more.

I love TV. Hence, I love a good TV deal.

Newegg has the Sceptre X320BV-ECO 32-inch LCD HDTV for $299.99 shipped. This is a new unit, not a refurb, and it's blissfully free of rebates.

Sceptre is probably better known for monitors than TVs, but the X320BV-ECO looks like a winner--at least on paper. For starters, it supports 1080p input signals over HDMI and component video (though it has a maximum output resolution of 720p, which is typical for a TV of this size).

The TV comes with a truly impressive number of connectivity options: three HDMI inputs, two component video, two composite video, and one VGA. It also has a USB port that supports FAT16/FAT32 file systems (meaning you you can play MP3s and/or JPEG photos) and an S/PDIF optical audio output for connecting to a stereo receiver, sound bar, or the like.

As for the "ECO" part of the name, that means it consumes less electricity than a typical 32-inch HDTV--40 percent less, according to Sceptre.

That's not entirely true: the X320BV-ECO's power consumption is rated at 100 watts--same as the Panasonic VIERA TC-L32C22, and just 10 watts less than the LG 32LD350. On the other hand, the Philips 32PFL3505D/F7 consumes 145 watts, so ultimately the claim depends on the TV you're comparing it with.

Half a dozen Newegg customers rated the TV five stars out of five, so it's a good bet you'll like what you see.

This deal is good through tomorrow. Speaking of which, I'll be off the grid, so I'll see you back here on Thursday.

Bonus deal: Also through tomorrow, Newegg has a pretty smoking deal on a laptop: the Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5087 for $349.99 shipped. It has 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, ATI Radeon graphics, and a 15.6-inch screen. Killer.
