Galaxy S4 leaked images are clearest yet on launch day

Getcher latest leaked S4 images 'ere! As Samsung rolls out the red carpet and fires up the arc lights, some more choice snaps have appeared online.

The best pics yet of the Samsung Galaxy S4 have appeared online, just as the Korean company is rolling out the red carpet and firing up the arc lights for tonight's massive New York launch.

The 19 images posted at Chinese blog Mobile.it168.com -- if genuine -- leave nothing to the imagination. They convey the new smart phone's design in much more detail than the hands-on video we saw earlier this week, with its metal edges and patterned back looking a good deal more impressive.

It's a slim piece of kit, at 7.7mm according to the site, which also backs up rumours of a 5-inch screen and eight-core chip.

The S4 will definitely support 4G, as the UK's high-speed, high-price network EE has confirmed it will sell it. Apart from that it's all speculation until later this evening, but it seems a decent bet it will run the latest version of Android, 4.2 Jelly Bean, and feature top-notch specs such as 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera.

The S4 will have its work cut out for it if it's to be as dominant among Android phones as the S3 was -- both Sony's Xperia Z and HTC's One are much classier than their predecessors.

CNET will be covering the launch with all the fervour of Catholics in St Peter's Square, just with proper cameras, not iPads. Our live blog begins at 10pm UK time right here -- no need to watch a chimney.

Are you impressed by these new pics? If this is the real deal, is it a big step forward for Samsung? Let me know what you think down in the comments, or over on Facebook, and watch Luke's video roundup of all the rumours below.
