Get ready to dance your cares away once again.
Jim Henson's "Fraggle Rock," featuring critters who are shaggier than the Muppets but probably related somehow, is returning to HBO, and this time, it's in high-def.
The remastered episodes will air later this year. They'll be sharp enough that we expect to see every bit of fur on the Fraggles' tails.
The remastering has created a contemporary look for the series, Jim Henson Company Executive Vice President Richard Goldsmith, said in a statement, adding that images were sharpened, contrast cleaned and vibrancy enhanced under the supervision Brian Henson, Jim's son. "We'll engage a whole new audience who will love meeting the Fraggles, Gorgs and Doozers."
Retro-minded Fraggle fans were excited about the return of the show, which originally aired 96 episodes from 1983 to 1987. While the original airing was in the 1980s, 1990s kids feel a special bond with the show too, since reruns played extensively for years after the show ended.
Some fans who posted on social media are wishing for new episodes to go with the remastered classics, but most just felt like gobbling down some radishes (a Fraggle favorite) and doing the Fraggle dance.
