Fortune released today a new Steve Jobs biography culled from the magazine's pages and available only in e-book form through Amazon.com's Kindle store.
"All About Steve: The Story of Steve Jobs and Apple from the Pages of Fortune" is a collection of 17 stories spanning nearly three decades about the former Apple CEO, who Fortune named "CEO of the Decade" in 2009. The book, compiled from hours of interviews with Fortune reporters, purports to detail the career of the man credited with rebuilding Apple and creating iconic devices.
"In the end he was proved right a billion times over, and his company Apple became one of the most successful enterprises on the planet," Fortune Managing Editor Andy Serwer wrote in the book's forward.
Theof the Apple co-founder, titled simply "Steve Jobs," is due to be published November 21 by Simon & Schuster. (Simon & Schuster is a unit of CBS Corp., whose CBS Interactive unit is the publisher of CNET.) The book is being penned by biographer Walter Isaacson from interviews with Jobs, family members, and colleagues.
Jobs, who has been dogged by severe health problems that forced him to take three leaves of absence from Apple in recent years,as Apple's chief executive officer in August.
