Two of the world's largest image providers have joined forces to allow Flickr users to licence their work through Getty Images.
The Flickr Collection provides a repository of images that have been hand-picked by Getty Images editors, from a diverse pool of Flickr users. These photographs can then be licensed as stock images for commercial use, through Getty.
Users can interact with the images by creating "clouds" of photographs according to a theme or keyword, and then share these clouds with others.
Currently, there are approximately 150 photographers from Australia and New Zealand with images in the collection, though this number will increase as the Getty Images editors invite more Flickr users to participate. The editors were looking for images that appeared typically Australian, so you'll find lots of sunshine, lollipops and beaches in the current collection.
