Flextronics completes Orbiant acquisition

Contract manufacturer Flextronics International said Friday it has completed its 91 percent acquisition of Orbiant from Telia, Sweden's largest telecommunications network provider. According to Singapore-based Flextronics, the acquisition will allow it to expand its network services business and to offer its customers a range of services related to the design, installation, operation, maintenance and management of networks and other equipment for fixed and mobile data and telecommunications. Ronny Nilsson, president of Flextronics Western Europe, has been appointed president of Flextronics Network Services. Orbiant's 5,400 employees will be integrated into Flextronics Network Services, which has headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, and already employs 6,500 people worldwide.
