Child abuse. Angry owls. A bloody Quidditch game. These are only a few of the things we'd see had we watched an R-rated "Harry Potter" movie instead of the tamer "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" film that we know and love.
New-media production duo Benny and Rafi Fine, aka the Fine Brothers, are best known for their video series that captures young folks' reactions to older technologies. In their latest Web series, which transforms kids' movies into R-rated offerings, the Fine Brothers take an entertaining look at classic scenes from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" as if the film was intended for an adult audience.
The incredibly gory new animated tribute to "Harry Potter" shows how violent Harry's home life had been before he was accepted to Hogwarts. We find out the sorting hat has a sordid past and that Harry was asked to join the Quidditch team because so many players die during games. Plus, Harry kills his teacher, which actually happens in the real film.
And remember those "Harry Potter" candies in disgusting flavors? Let's just say we discover Dumbledore has a very weak stomach.
