See an iPhone 7 sacrificed to the fidget-spinner gods

Witness the creation of an extremely expensive and incredibly impractical desk toy using an iPhone 7.

Fidget spinners are the latest deities among desk toys. The whirling devices are supposed to keep your hands busy and absorb your excess nervous energy. The fad has now reached a new level with a video posted on Wednesday by YouTube channel EverythingApplePro, which posts phone drop tests, accessory reviews and leaks and rumors. Look away if you can't stand seeing someone drill into an iPhone 7.

EverythingApplePro first goes to town on an Phone 5S (with the battery removed) by drilling a pilot hole all the way through the phone's center. The final drill bit creates a gaping hole through the iPhone's devastated soul and shattered screen. Our host deconstructs a fidget spinner and places the center into the phone, which readily spins on demand.

Next, an iPhone 7 goes under the drill and receives the same treatment, though it puts up much more of a fight than the iPhone 5S. The video description includes this helpful warning: "This May Damage Your iPhone!"

While the iPhone 7 can function as a fidget spinner, the phone's size makes it challenging to use. Between that and the steep price tag, it shouldn't be a threat to replace any real fidget gadgets.
