Ex-Commerce head appointed to EDS board

Electronic Data Systems has appointed former U.S. Secretary of Commerce William Daley to its board, taking over the spot vacated last August by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney. Daley most recently chaired the Gore-Lieberman presidential campaign before joining the services giant?s board. From 1997 through 2000, Daley served as U.S. Secretary of Commerce under former President Bill Clinton. Plano, Texas-based EDS said as Commerce Secretary, Daley worked to promote open trade and led administration efforts creating government policies for the growth of electronic business.
