Doc says kiddie Net addicts common

Some children are becoming addicted to the Internet, according to a British psychologist. Dr. Mark Griffiths claims that spending too much time on the Net can be as damaging as drug or alcohol abuse.

According to a Reuters report, some children are becoming addicted to the Internet.

Spending up to 14 hours a day on the Net could become as damaging as drug or alcohol abuse, according to British psychologist Dr. Mark Griffiths.

Griffiths says parents should minimize their children's time on a PC because Net addiction could hinder a child's ability to develop mature relationships.
