New animated 'DuckTales' waddling to TV screens in 2017

Get ready to head back to Duckburg. Huey, Dewey, Louie, Scrooge McDuck and the rest of the "DuckTales" gang are getting a reboot, with a new animated series set to land on Disney XD in 2017.

Listen up, children of the '80s and early '90s. One of the best animated series of your childhood is coming back to TV screens in 2017. Disney announced Wednesday that Huey, Dewey, Louie, Scrooge McDuck and the rest of the "DuckTales" gang are getting a new series.

For those who somehow have never heard of "DuckTales," the series is based on the "Uncle Scrooge" comic books by the legendary Carl Barks, and centers around the adventures of thrifty billionaire Scrooge McDuck and his great-nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. The adventures generally involve either thwarting villains after Scrooge's gold, or racing off to find some treasure before the bad guys do, and they're always full of laughs.

There will probably be ample amounts of race cars, lasers and aeroplanes in new Duckburg. So get ready to solve a mystery, or rewrite history, when "DuckTales" comes back to Disney XD in 2017.

To hold you over, be sure to watch the video at the top of this post, which shows the "DuckTales" opening sequence re-created with actual ducks, and good luck trying to get the catchy theme song out of your head today. Oh, and you can watch the entire original "DuckTales" series on the Watch Disney app.
