Digital Island snags streaming deal

Software maker Digital Island says it has inked a deal with Streaming Media to provide content for Streaming Media's Web site. Under the deal, Digital Island will encode and deliver live streams of more than 500 hours of archived editorial and convention content to Streaming Media. San Francisco-based Streaming Media, a subsidiary of Penton Media, provides news and resources for the streaming media industry and hosts conferences. San Francisco-based Digital Island provides streaming services to businesses and media entertainment events on the Web, such as concerts by Madonna, Sheryl Crow and AC/DC.
