The British actress says she accepted the role in "Fast 8" on the condition that she's allowed to drive in the film.

Helen Mirren will join the cast of "Fast 8", the eighth instalment in the Fast and the Furious franchise -- on one condition.

The Oscar-winning British actress confirmed her spot in the 2017 action flick in an interview with Elle, telling the magazine, "I've always rather loved driving. I said, 'I'll be in it, but only if I'm allowed to drive if I do drive in it.'"

The 70-year-old actress recently starred in high-tech drone thriller "Eye in the Sky", and won the Best Actress Academy Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen".

Nabbing a part in "Fast 8" appears to be the fulfilment of a long-held dream for Mirren, who last year told Yahoo, "My great ambition is to be in a Fast and Furious movie. I so want to be a mad driver in a Fast and Furious movie. My claim to fame is I always do my own driving."
