Fifty-two percent of Americans are putting computers on their holiday wish list as opposed to a new TV, according to a survey of 1,012 adult consumers conducted by the Gallup Organization.
The survey found that Americans would rather receive software over other electronic gifts, such as VCRs, cellular phones, and home stereo systems. Thirty-three percent said they are planning to buy software as gifts because computers and software have become easier to use. For more information on software, go to CNET's virtual software library.
