Cingular, AT&T Wireless get 3G gear

Nokia has begun large-volume shipments of equipment that both AT&T Wireless and Cingular Wireless need to build "3G" networks. These new networks are supposed to offer improved cell phone service, a Nokia spokeswoman said Wednesday. AT&T Wireless will begin offering 3G services this year. Cingular Wireless will finish building a 3G network in early 2004, a spokesman said.
