CDWorld to shut down

CDWorld.com will be closing its online store on Friday because of the weakening economy, company Chief Executive Bruce Pettyjohn said. The Campbell, Calif.-based company, which sold CDs, DVDs, software and video games, has laid off seven employees from its 10-person staff over the past five months, he said. According to the company's Web site, CDWorld will not accept returns on items ordered after March 6. Privately funded, CDWorld had been in business for six and a half years, Pettyjohn said.
