When Marvel revealed that the Oscar winner Brie Larson would be play the lead in the upcoming superhero film "Captain Marvel," the actress happily tweeted a photo of herself wearing a Marvel Studios baseball cap with the caption, "Call me Captain Marvel."
In fact, Larson is so excited about playing Carol Danvers that she has been regularly tweeting fan art of herself as Captain Marvel on her Twitter account.
On August 6, Larson thrilled Marvel fans even more when she tweeted a photo of herself reading a Captain Marvel comic while wearing a Captain Marvel costume with the caption, "Larson Industries R&D Dept."
For fans who want to follow along with Larson's research, the comic she's reading in the photo is "Captain Marvel Volume 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More," published by Marvel in 2014.
While info about the new "Captain Marvel" movie is scarce, the screenplay will be written by Meg LeFauve ("Inside Out") and Nicole Perlman ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), with Kevin Feige serving as producer. No director has been announced yet.
"Captain Marvel" hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
