Bosnian Peacekeepers Get Email

American soldiers arriving in the former Yugoslavia won't have to wait for weeks to receive letters or worry about lost mail anymore. They can correspond via email, thanks to Chief Warrant Officer Clinton Banner, who set up the email network. Soldiers who will be sent to Bosnia are also expected to have email access. The public can send messages to soldiers in the former Yugoslavia.

In an effort to keep the public updated on the Bosnia mission, the Pentagon has created a site called BosniaLINK. The site includes operation maps, news, fact sheets, and speeches. Banner said he will not give the soldiers access to the Net because free time is scarce.

Other Bosnia-related sites include the Bosnia Homepage and The Bosnian Virtual Fieldtrip.
