Boingo Wireless, a start-up that aggregates Wi-Fi hot spots, announced Monday that it completed a series B round of funding. The Santa Monica, Calif-based company said it will use the funding to grow its global network and expand its efforts to woo carriers, Internet service providers and managed service providers.
The company raised $10 million in the round and $30 million overall, which should fund it until 2006. The lead investor was Mitsui & Co. Venture Partners. An investment partner from Mitsui, Mark Kawahara, will join Boingo's board of directors.
