I went out shopping on Black Friday once., culminating with me seeing a guy get knocked out over the last super-cheap digital camera at Best Buy. Needless to say, I haven't been out since.
Still, it could have been worse, as comedy video maker Nacho Punch points out in its latest video. The clip, a parody film trailer simply called "Black Friday," turns the annual shopping day into a survival horror film, where shoppers must survive being shot and stabbed if they're going to walk out with their discounted merchandise. And, with guns and swords aplenty, not many people will.
Though "Black Friday" is an obvious parody that takes the shopping holiday to the extreme, it actually isn't that far from reality. Black Friday is dangerous, with lots of violence and even some deaths reported in recent years. Heck, there's even a website called Black Friday Death Count that tries to track these things (and sell you "I Survived!" T-shirts).
If nothing else, "Black Friday" reminds us that waiting until Cyber Monday might be a really good idea. Because a $200 50-inch TV might seem like a steal, but the only thing being stolen might be your life.
