BigBand Networks swings to tune of $25 million

The developer of multimedia services for broadband networks ups its investment total past $100 million.

BigBand Networks announced Tuesday it has raised $25 million in its latest round of funding and completed its acquisition of the IP cable unit of ADC Telecommunications. The start-up, based in Redwood City, Calif., develops multimedia services, such as video on demand and voice over IP, for broadband networks.

Companies investing in BigBand include Charles River Ventures, Evergreen Investments, Meritech Capital Partners, Pilot House Ventures, Redpoint Ventures and Time Warner Ventures. BigBand Networks has raised more than $100 million in funding.
