Best Buy has cleared the last hurdle to begin construction of its new corporate headquarters in Richfield, Minn. On Tuesday, the electronics retailer received a permit from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Best Buy plans to break ground this summer.
The company announced in January 2000 that it would relocate its headquarters from Eden Prairie to Richfield to accommodate a growing work force. Both cities are suburbs of Minneapolis. Best Buy plans to spend $160 million on the new headquarters and move to the site in late 2002.
