Behold 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in 8-bit glory

This "Guardians of the Galaxy" tribute makes us long for a retro NES-style video game of Groot, Rocket, Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax in pixilated action.

Still suffering from "Guardians of the Galaxy" withdrawal symptoms? Feel better fast by watching all your favorite movie moments of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket in action with this 8-bit (technically 16-bit) gaming tribute from CineFix by David and Henry Dutton.

For the five people reading this who still haven't seen the film -- it's been out for months, what are you waiting for?! -- we're refraining from describing each movie scene depicted in this homage. But hey, there's a rather cute dancing Groot animation at the end.

While this retro tribute may not have the beautiful CGI and special effects from the movie, it does make us hope someone decides to make a real NES-style "Guardians of the Galaxy" video game. Someone start an online petition now!

Even the actual movie's very own director gives this old-school gamer tribute a thumbs-up. "I love it," James Gunn wrote in the video's YouTube comments.

If you want more, CineFix has also "gamified" other movie favorites such as "The Avengers," "The Amazing Spider-Man," "The Hobbit," "The Fifth Element" and "Blade Runner."
