When a little boy with leukemia named Miles Scott revealed that his ultimate dream was to save Gotham as Batman in 2013, Make-A-Wish and thousands of San Francisco volunteers made his wish come true and turned him into Batkid.
The eventfor a day, where Batkid trained with Batman, saved a damsel, helped capture the Riddler and received the key to the city, all while wearing an adorkable Batkid costume.
Batkid became a media and viral sensation overnight, which in turn inspired the making of a documentary, "Batkid Begins," which debuted this week at Slamdance.
Now actress and producer Julia Roberts has closed a deal to adapt the documentary into a scripted film, according to Deadline.
Roberts will star in the feature, as well as produce with her Red Om Films partners Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan. "Batkid Begins" documentary director Dana Nachman is slated to executive produce. Josh Braun and Dan Braun are also onboard as executive producers.
