Under the terms of the agreement, PrimeSource Technologies will offer design, implementation, and management services for Baan business applications, and Metamor Worldwide will provide integrated application hosting services, including Web-enabled ERP (enterprise resource planning) service management system from its Solution Center in Atlanta under its subsidiary Metamor Enterprise Operations (E-Ops).
Customers will gain round-the-clock access to their Baan applications via the Internet, their current network, or the E-Ops network for a fixed monthly fee. Pricing details were not immediately available.
Baan and its competitors SAP, PeopleSoft, and Oracle are all jockeying for position as the application hosting market heats up with the growth of the Internet and the need by small and medium sized businesses with tight budgets to implement enterprise applications.
Services provided by the three companies will include Baan administration, systems management, operations, disaster recovery, network management, and Baan applications management.
