'Arrow' star takes a bow in trailer for Lego Batman 3 expansion

The emerald archer and his friends and foes from the hit TV show appear in the latest Beyond Gotham downloadable content.

"To survive, I must become something else. Something green. And pointy. And arrow-y."

Green Arrow and his crew are building up their parts as they transform into Lego form for a new expansion to the game Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The emerald archer is voiced by Stephen Amell, star of the TV show "Arrow" in this fun trailer.

The hit show "Arrow", based on DC Comics characters and broadcast since 2012 on The CW, follows the adventures of billionaire turned archery-themed-crimefighter Oliver Queen and his friends and foes.

Queen turned to arrow-y heroism after he was shipwrecked on an isolated island for five years. Beyond Gotham, the new downloadable content for Lego Batman 3 takes you to that island, where fans of the show will recognise minifig versions of regular characters Slade Wilson, Black Canary and Malcolm Merlyn. Felicity Smoak, Huntress, John Diggle and Arsenal are also teased.

The DLC should be available to download now.

Released in November last year, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham sees the caped crusader recruit other heroes from across the DC Universe. It's available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, iOS and Steam. Other DLC adds versions of heroes and villains from the "Dark Knight" movies, Superman film "Man of Steel" and the future-set "Batman Beyond" series.

The third season of "Arrow" returns in a week on 21 January, with a fourth season in the works. The success of the show led to a spin-off featuring fellow DC hero "The Flash", while a new animated show featuring "Vixen" will take place in the same universe later in 2015.

Speaking of Lego Batman, the gruff-voiced brick-built bat-hero is set to get his own awesome movie after stealing the show in last year's "Lego Movie".
