Ariba said Wednesday it appointed former Computer Associates executive Allan Smith as chief executive of Ariba Australia. The business-to-business software maker also said Wednesday it opened new offices in Melbourne, Australia, and Sydney, Australia, marking the company's continued international push. Smith joins Ariba after a 14-year tenure with Computer Associates, most recently as senior vice president of sales, support and customer relationship management for California. Prior to that, he was Computer Associates' managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Smith also spent 14 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
