Apple employees will enjoy some healthy products discounts as thanks for the company's.
At an internal meeting yesterday, CEO Tim Cook announced that employees will soon be able to grab a $500 discount on the purchase of a new Mac and a $250 discount on a new iPad, revealed 9to5Mac.
Not scheduled to launch until June, the new discount program is saddled with a few restrictions. Apple workers must have been with the company for at least 90 days and can only take advantage of the discounts once every three years. The program seems to cover all Macs with the exception of the Mac Mini, which starts at $599.
Apple employees currently receive a 25 percent discount on complete Mac systems along with other benefits, according to the Apple Support Forum and other sources. So as 9to5Mac points out, the $500 discount could be a "big deal" in certain cases.
It's unclear whether the new discounts would replace the existing ones or be added on top of them.
Apple did not immediately respond to CNET's request for further details.
