Apple sets date for Japan store launch

Apple Computer plans to open a retail store in Tokyo's Ginza shopping district on Nov. 30, the Cupertino, Calif., company said Tuesday. The store is the first of the Apple-owned stores to open outside the United States. The store, which will be the Mac maker's 73rd overall, has five floors and will include similar features to those of its U.S. counterparts, including a "genius bar" where customers can ask all varieties of Mac questions.

"We opened our first retail store just over two years ago and have since hosted more than 23 million visitors," Apple retail chief Ron Johnson said in a statement.
