Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.
We played with Roamz when it first launched and thought it had potential. Boy, howdy, has it grown on us. If you've never used it before, it pulls public posts from other social networks — Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram, Twitter and now Tumblr — and, using your location, shows you what's going on around you based on what other people are actually doing. It's a fantastic way to find things to do and see, and places to go.
Version 2.5 has added a few really great features. The first will please those who don't like being forced to sign into anything: you can now browse Roamz anonymously. We also like the new search function — so if there's an activity you're interested in, you can search for it, instead of hoping it will pop up. You can change location, too, so if you're going to be somewhere else after work, you can plan where to go — the Favourite locations feature can set a reminder to pop by when you're near. We love it.
The Android update is coming soon.
