Alexa Dell, 18-year-old daughter of Dell CEO Michael Dell, has had her Twitter privileges revoked for oversharing.
Like many people on social networks, Alexa Dell liked telling the internet where she was and what she was doing. The problem is that her father is a PC magnate and billionaire — and her broadcasting of the family's movements was jeopardising their security.
The shutdown came, according to Bloomberg Businessweek, after Alexa tweeted an Instagram picture of her 15-year-old brother Zachary, sitting aboard the family's private jet and eating a luxurious buffet en route to Fiji.
Dell officials are keeping mum on the exact nature of the shutdown, but did confirm that it was due to a security measure — and, since Michael Dell pays US$2.7 million per year for personal security, it's not hard to see the reason behind it.
What do you think? Was shutting down Alexa Dell's Twitter account too severe?
