Adobe updates server software

Publishing-software maker Adobe Systems announced on Monday the release of version 5.0 of its Acrobat Distiller Server, software for creating and distributing documents online in Adobe's PDF format. The new version includes enhanced security features and support for XML, the increasingly popular standard for delivering Web services. Acrobat Distiller Server will be available in versions for Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Sun Microsystem's Solaris version of Unix, and Red Hat's version of Linux. Pricing starts at $5,000 for a license that supports 100 consumers.
