3 Mobile has adjusted its iPhone plans ahead of the network's official launch tomorrow, making its cheapest plans even cheaper.

The company today announced that the customers choosing an 8GB iPhone 3G model on its $49 per month plan will not have to pay any monthly handset repayments. This strengthens 3's pricing on last year's iPhone model, which it had originally offered for $0 upfront on a $79 plan. The $49 cap includes $350 worth of calls and text, 300 minutes to other 3 mobiles and 250MB of internet data.

This adjustment makes 3 Australia's cheapest operator for the 8GB iPhone. Both Optus and Vodafone offer this model for $0 upfront on a $59 plan, but double the included data offered by 3 from 250MB to 500MB at this price point.

The cost of 16GB and 32GB iPhone 3GS models remain almost the same as it was in 3's original announcement on pricing. Customers can purchase either model on all of 3's available iPhone capped plans plus an additional handset repayment expense. The 16GB model is offered without this extra cost on the $79 plan or the $100 Works plan, while the 32GB continues to attract a handset cost on all plans.
