$100,000 in prizes for game tourney

Id Software, creator of "Quake" and other popular PC shooting games, announced it will offer $100,000 in prizes in its upcoming QuakeCon tournament. "Quake III" players will compete for a $20,000 top prize during the tournament, which runs Aug. 15 to Aug. 18 in Mesquite, Texas, while $25,000 will be up for grabs to the top "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" player. Registration for the tournament, sponsored by graphics chipmaker ATI, begins June 14 on the QuakeCon site.
