Is Verizon's tiered data plan giving you the frowny face? Gingerbread Droid X's have a new feature that can help ease the pain of not having an unlimited data plan. Data saver mode will postpone heavy data usage tasks until a Wi-Fi connection is detected. This not only saves your data usage, but it also saves your battery life. Here's how to enable data saver mode:

Step 1:
Hit the Menu key on your Droid X and tap Settings.

That's it. Now that you've enabled data saver mode, your data usage will be more efficient. Market and browser downloads, multimedia content downloads, and large e-mail attachments will now wait until your phone is connected to Wi-Fi before downloading.
