CNET News Video: What it took to get a gold iPhone 5S on the first day

Hundreds of people lined up outside the San Francisco Apple store to be among the first to get their hands on the iPhone 5S, but only a lucky few were able to get the coveted gold iPhone. Apple handed out cards to buyers waiting in line that designated which iPhone they wanted, but workers ran out of the gold cards within the first hundred people.

-Gold! -I'm really excited about the gold phone and the fingerprint feature. So I was like, I gotta do it. -Hi mom, I love you. I'm standing in line getting you an iPhone. -Can I get 64 silver Verizon, please? -I can't believe that I am the first person in line even though I had been awake 18 hours. So, even though I'm tired, but [unk]. -So it's like a badge of honor in a way. I mean, I think that I iPhone gold, but I think- I'm pretty sure people with the iPhone gold, they're just gonna show it and then people would know what it took for them to get that phone. -The only one they have installed. The 16 gig, the gold one. I'm a lucky person to get this one. -The gold one, but they only have 1 stock. I wanna buy 2, but only have 1 stock right here. So, a bit disappointed, but 16 gigs AT&T and lock versions, so I can really [unk].
