Toyota shrinks the Prius with the Prius C

Honey, I shrunk the Prius. Actually with Toyota's new Prius c, they also shrunk the engine. The new Prius c uses a 1.5 liter engine and a 60 horsepower electric motor. That compares to a 1.8 liter engine and 80 horsepower motor in the standard Prius. The smaller engine and the car's smaller size that actually weighs 500 lbs less than the standard Prius translates to 53 miles per gallon in the city but only 46 miles per gallon on the highway which is less than the standard Prius but with the pricing starting below 19,000 it is definitely an entry level Prius.
