CES 2012: Toshiba 14-inch ultrabook prototype

1:03 /

One of the very first 14-inch ultrabooks, this still-unnamed Toshiba should hit stores in the second half of 2012.

I am Dan Ackerman and that's CES 2012 Toshiba is showing off this unnamed 14-inch Ultrabook prototype. The unit that we see right here has a satellite logo on it, relatively let's say the Portege branding that we saw on Toshiba first Ultrabook Z835 at the end of 2011. Otherwise though, it looks very similar. Standard kind of business consumer cross overlooked by the gray brushed metal in with a rounded corners. We haven't really seen any 14-inch Ultrabooks hit the market yet but they are coming. The (tapered Bunny?) on this model is very thin for a 14-inch laptop. It certainly feels like a different class of system than the 13-inch Ultrabooks we've seen a little bit bigger, much closer to something you could use, let's say all day everyday at the office work. Now, Toshiba does not have a final name or released or price for this system yet but we certainly look forward to checking it out in more detail later this year and probably seeing a lot more 14-inch Ultrabooks from other manufacturers as well. At CES 2012, I am Dan Ackerman and this is Toshiba's 14-inch Ultrabook Prototype.
