Car Tech Video: The Toyota iQ EV has limited range and limited availability

Known as the Scion iQ in the U.S., the European version is the Toyota iQ EV, an electric vehicle that charges fast and drives slow. At the 2012 Paris Motor Show, CNET's Wayne Cunningham takes a look at the iQ EV and tells you why you might have a hard time finding this car.

I'm Wayne Cunningham with CNET. Here at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Right here is the Toyota iQ EV. In the US we've seen the Scion iQ with a gas engine. This is basically the same idea except with an electric powertrain. Toyota only puts 12-kilowatt-hour lithium ion battery pack into this car. So that means it only gets 50 miles of range on a charge. But then again, it also charges up to full in about 3 to 4 hours. It's not a fast car either. Zero to sixty is about 14 seconds, and--
