So to set this up a little bit this is the story I actually got, Stephen, that went live this morning on, oh that's the CraveCast one. Yeah. Not that one. The [LAUGH] The exoplanet story I've been working on for a couple of years off and on now. Or at least thinking about it. Just kind of setting the scene, take you back to 2013 I went to a panel At South by Southwest, there it is. Of the panel with NASA folks on the James Webb space telescope, which is the space telescope that's going to succeed the Hubble. And all these NASA folks and these kinda smart astronomer type people were all just talking about finding life beyond Earth with these next generation telescopes just like it was kind of an inevitability And a year later, I made a visit to the Mauna Kea in Hawaii where there is a lot of the biggest telescopes on Earth. Spoke with people there who kind of have the same sentiment so I have been looking into this over the past few years, talking to. Astronomers, astrobiologists. And the result is this piece that went up this morning. And we're also going to hear, in just a few moments from one of the astrobiologists that I talked to for the story. A doctor Abel Mendez, from the University of Puerto Rico Arecibo. There he is and, So there's also a astrobiology conference going on this week in Chicago so it seems like a good reason to do another space show. And so the basic thrust of the piece is basically James Webb space telescope launches in 2018. There's another companion telescope that goes by the name of Tess. It's an acronym that I forget at the moment. Transiting exo planet survey satellite, there it is, boom. [LAUGH] Good memory. And that's in 2017 that that one's launching. And then there is about a half dozen other ones that are going to be coming online, In the next decade or so. And so all this basically gives us an entirely new set of hardware to look for signs of life beyond Earth. And we've been relying for a few decades now largely on telescopes like Kepler and Spitzer and Hubble, all of which are pretty much at the end of their life. Hubble was built Get this, in the 1980s. I read about that time. >. Yeah exactly. [LAUGH] So that's the technology that we're currently using. So you can't just upload an upgrade?>> Every time they look in the dial it makes this noise, like [NOISE]. Well that's what they've been doing to Hubble for years, just upgrading it but they have to send astronauts up there to do physically do it. They can't just do it with a software update, like, Which will be awesome. [CROSSTALK] The couple's still paying for AOL email. [LAUGH] At some point, I mean, you could try to load Mass Effect on your Atari 2600, and at some point it's just not gonna work. He's [UNKNOWN] cartridges. Right. But the big thing really with telescopes is the size of the lens. So that [UNKNOWN] reflects the light back from what you're looking at. At some point you've just got to upload the CPU, which in a telescope is basically the lens. So what you're saying is that size matters. So it does matter, as I'm sure we'll get to in our second segment. So I spoke with Dr. Able Mendez and he, down at the University of Puerto Rico. They have one of the biggest radio telescopes down there. And were one of the first people to, one of the first facilities, to accidentally detect a planet beyond our solar system all the way back in 1992. So I mean what kind of blows my mind here, and what I talked to Dr. Mendez about is, is in the last 20 years or so, we've gone from living in a world where we couldn't confirm more than one planet Beyond our own solar system. Now we've confirmed at least a couple of thousand and we're pretty sure there's literally billions more. Dr. Mendez has actually started keeping a catalog of the confirmed ones. And I like Dr. Mendez because he's really a realist in this area. When you talk to NASA folks they kind of have to be like we're going to do amazing things and we're going to find this inevitably. Because they're constantly trying to keep their budget going. So they have to keep excitement in the public going. But you get a really good picture from Doctor Mendez. And if you've got the video from last night, I spoke with him again last night from that astrobiology conference in Chicago. And we talked a little bit about, you know, where his mindframe, his frame of mind has gone from When he started this search which is probably kind of where I'm at right now where it's like very exciting and then you get in to it and the reality of it hits. Here's Dr. Mendez. When you start working this field you feel like you are quite possibly that Given the shared number of stars that the possibility of a planet just like earth. Because we have the evidence that that is possible. It's just us. So it's just a finding what more. But the more you know, the details from all the different things from From the astronomy or the limitation from the geology and the origin of the planet. Or the limitation of biology, used, if a, it thinks harder and it looks more like the planet just like they think to be quite rare. So that make it harder to discover it. It seems like it's almost all about gambling- Yeah Because the chances of there being nothing else in the vast universe seems impossible. But the chances of, like you were saying, everything being exactly perfect for complex life to form is, Is almost just as against the odds, right? Yeah. If you look at earth, in the history of earth, almost five billion years of history, most of the time has been without complex life. Only in in the last third percent of the history of earth, and I think that's very interesting, because obviously we see an increase And CO2 levels, degrees and the temperatures where [UNKNOWN], then you have the right conditions for life, so maybe if we have those conditions earlier, maybe it could happen a little bit earlier in the planet's evolution [INAUDIBLE] Seems to be a problem and not only of time, but also of space and something there to look for.>> So there you go. That's Dr. Able Mendez from the university of Puerto Rico at arasebo. He's in the piece that I wrote that's up on crave. Today on the new tools that are going to be coming online in the next decade to help us find evidence of life beyond Earth. Any thoughts or reactions, you guys? That's cool. I mean, it's finally like a Science is saying yeah there's probably lots of life out there and we just need to find it. It could take us a while, it's very rare but you know usually it's always guys saying "no, there's nothing out there, we're the only thing here, you know." That's always the line everyone tells, so that's cool. That's sort of an older generation, the one that's always in movies, always asking science are fake. That's the human only model. But- You know what I'm saying? Oh, go ahead. No, go for it Danny. Well, I was just saying, is he saying that like the first step is we have to figure out which of these planets can sustain life and then is that enough to determine that there is life or do we have to literally find someone with a hi, there sign? on a planet. I think when you talk to these people they're definitely kind of trying to set expectations low because the odds are if we find anything it's probably going to be a bacteria. It'll be evidence of methane or oxygen or something that's may be being created by some microbe somewhere on another Another planet. Because what he was saying is the conditions that have to exist for complex life, like humans or cheetahs or whatever to form, is mathematically crazy. But it's also mathematically crazy that it wouldn't exist anywhere else. So this is kind of what's called the Fermi Paradox. Like, it must be out there so why haven't we seen it? Well, one of the reasons might be that the scales of distance and time that you're dealing with on a cosmic level are crazy. I mean, we can't really conceive of how large the universe is and the amount of time the earth has taken to form. In case you've watched Cosmos with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, he goes into this a little bit, but I mean, the amount of time that humans have existed on the planet is like nothing. So we have to not only be looking for a planet that could conceivably have life on it, but we have to be looking at it at the right moment in its history when it could be supporting life so It's a crazy, needle in a haystack thing. About the specifically what we're looking for in addition to conditions that could support life that we're familiar with. What Danny was saying. You mention in your article, Eric, that they're looking for biosignatures, waste products basically. Gasses like methane, carbon dioxide. Right, and I mean even then, when you find, I mean really what would be kind of the home run would be to find lots of oxygen in the atmosphere of a planet. But even then, it's not, you know, there are like methane and other biosignatures that can be created through processes that don't involve life, so Even if we find these biosignatures, which is what we think we'll be able to do with these telescopes, then there will probably be a process of building something even more advanced to confirm that it's not a false positive or something. So it's an interesting balance of trying to be realistic and enthusiastic about it because It's still a long way to find this, however, it's crazy how far we've come in 5 or 15 years. Another thing that he talked about that I didn't include in that clip was I asked him, a lot of the exo planets we know now can't come from Kepler, right? And science mode, did you expect Kepler to be as Successful as it has been, and he said, you know, we knew Kepler was going to find exoplanets. We did not know that it was going to find exoplanets so similar to Earth, you know, with water and rocky, you know, rocky land and basically what you need to foster life as we know it. That's Cool. So. I mean, they're finding that stuff on Mars recently. They've found methane, and other kinds of gases that were byproducts of life forms, you know, so, who's to say it's not closer than we think. Who's to say? I was really surprised how soon, Eric, you were saying they were expecting to get some kind of The dates vary. One of the most, Sara Seeger, who is in the piece, she's at MIT. She's one of the more optimistic people and she thinks these next telescopes, with a little bit of luck, should be able to help us find You know some planets with oxygen in their atmospheres, and then there's a guy at NASA named Kevin Hand who has actually put a date on it. He thinks by about 2034, that's kind of his deadline for when he thinks we should find life elsewhere, so yeah it's closer than you think, and I like the way Sarah Seeger puts it, she's like It could be decades, but she still expects that at some point in her life, you're going to be able to go outside with your children, point to a star and say that star has a planet around it with life on it. Maybe it's just bacteria, but there's something up there. So, pretty unique stuff. Stephen Hawking doesn't want us to find. it's fine line right. Because we're afraid they'll all come kill us right? [CROSSTALK] You're the one with the [UNKNOWN] No that's [UNKNOWN] life right? [UNKNOWN] intelligence. Which he claims he isn't, but [LAUGH] But no, as John Oliver pointed out, how do I know? If someone wanted to warn me about artificial intelligence and hide the fact that they were artificially intelligent You would be the ideal person to hide the fact that there's artificial intelligence and that's when I think Hawking called them an idiot and then they just moved on. Right, and I think with this case, I don't know if they're going through Elon Musk. I hope they're not going through Elon Musk. At least not literally. Well they're not going to get their deposit back. But I assume they wanna do more than just go up into the, I don't know the technical term, but the Vomit Comet. The Vomit Comet plane. Yeah. They wanna actually go into space. Which, you know, sex is awkward enough. When it happens to me, at least I, you know, I always say to myself, well, things could go bad but at least I have gravity. [LAUGH] You know. That's my plot. I don't- Go ahead. You know what? I've got so many things, I can't. Yeah, I'm sure you have plenty of questions. I don't think it would work. Like, physically, don't you need, like, blood flow going in at certain direction and There's no gravity in space so, Well and physically there's like [CROSSTALK] Newton's laws are like, things need an equal and opposite reaction. Oh yeah. And then, you're gonna, either there's gonna be Nothing to, there's problems of thrust, let's just put it that way. [LAUGH] That's all [INAUDIBLE] a better name. Yeah it would. And also, I haven't check this Today, but last I heard, they were still pretty far off from their goal, right? Really? Yeah, they're at $51,000 right now and they- Wow. That's actually pretty good. I actually watched the indiegogo pitch, and it's terrible. It's very hastily put together, just from a production standpoint. Like if they Did you study a lot of production standpoint? For science. For my days working in the valley I assume that's to make it like an Uda Hagan acting coach. That would be awesome. That would be. This is the creepiest guy in the whole video. I know [LAUGH]. I don't know if he's real or not. Show what he's about to do. Yeah. Oh you can't show it okay. [LAUGH] I was saying, he just. I'll just say this, I know why they were at 50,000, because of that guy. [LAUGH] Everybody that looked at her was like, is he going to be in the movie? Well I'm not giving money to that guy. [LAUGH] I mean just logistically I don't know. What are they going to go to the space station or, I mean, it seems like it would probably have to be a suborbital flight, right? Which is like a Virgin Galactic thing. That's the thing. Yeah, Virgin Galactic. [LAUGH] You don't need to put a lot of thought into preparations. That's why they think, oh we can just give $3 million to some space company. And that that's probably what they call it. We'll give it to some space company and they will let us go into space. No, to me, without getting too technical, it is space, liquids don't yeah Can you Scotch Guard a whole ship basically, you are going to need to is my issue. Can I just- You said you had three words for this. I feel sorry for him. Only if you're done. Are we done? Talking about it? This is my Okay, you want a last word. What were you saying, Danny? All right, well, from our glorious future to space porn, to, you know what. Let's just bring it down to video games, what's going on in E3? There's games and stuff. There's lots of games. Wait, E3 is beneath porn? [LAUGH] Well, no it's not- [CROSSTALK] Judging by my Twitter feed yesterday, E3 is porn. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's porn for everyone I work with, and me. There's some pretty excited people there. It's porn that doesn't require Scotchgard. Well, we do have at least a few space related games that were introduced, I think yesterday, at E3 in LA. Starting with Star Wars Battlefront. Which there's some interesting things going on with [UNKNOWN] his wife and that, but here's the trailer. Did you have to bring us down right before this amazing trailer, Eric? [LAUGH] Nobody think about Han Solo's wife for a second, just look at this. So excited for this. It's long though, we don't have to [CROSSTALK] Yet, well this is actual, this is supposed to be actual game play footage right? Not just the trailer? Yeah, this is game play. Yeah. Gross right. Nice. Yeah. So I mean, there's a big difference there in terms of So it's Wolfenstin Star Wars, I like it. Well wait till they get outside dude. [NOISE] I was saying on Twitter, I also forget that Star Wars is supposed to be about wars because I mostly remember a bunch of stealth missions. Hiding, sneaking, flirting. I have the same thought about Star Trek. It's about trekking. [LAUGH] Certain amount of trekking. I do. So I mean, at this point, how many Star Wars first person shooters do we have? This can't be the first obviously. Oh god no. There's, one, or all of the Knights of the Old Republic? Or Jedi Knight? Dark forces? Is that one of them? There hasn't been one in a while, I don't think. I think Dark Forces. [CROSSTALK] Yeah, I feel like like it's just been Battle Front that I'm really aware of, the most popular one. And then there's The Force Unleashed, which I love. Yeah You do have a sword though. Star Wars: The Old Republic has a mini game section called Galactic Star Fighter that looks like it's just been completely eclipsed by this. Anybody who wants to say This kind of thing is I think going to move over. So why should I care about this one that was introduced yesterday as a total noob. What's cool with this one? Well it's a new EA game. And it's Star Wars Battlefront. Darth Vader's in it. And it's 2005. There are jet packs. [LAUGH] Actual Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader ones. Oh yeah. There's jet packs. There's stars and there's wars. [LAUGH] You can apparently blow up and adit with a pistol, which is a bit of a shock. Oh yeah, we saw that. But you gotta hit it in just the right spot. I don't know. I still gotta question. Oh wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Here we go. We're. Flying in a speeder here. And it's gorgeous, Eric. Oh my God, look at that. Oh, and since, should we count Rebel Assault as a first person? Yeah, that was, you were in one of these, right? In a speeder? Well, in a bunch of ships, yeah. So technically [CROSSTALK]. They said that they got permission to use No, don't point that, go back, go back, look at the thing, nevermind, I'll stop talking. [LAUGH] I think it looks good. it looks totally fun. I mean, you know, it's gonna be really popular. Why haven't they done it sooner? They're probably timing everything for the film to come out. Yeah. Blah blah blah. All the merchandise. People are gonna get burned out on Star Wars before it comes out. We've had people saying already yeah. [LAUGH] [UNKNOWN] why you haven't done a first person Star Wars game like this sooner. Well, I know the film, you gotta tie it to the film and Merchandising and everything, but, I mean, this to me looks like pretty much what they've been asking for. This makes up for bounty hunter. Yeah, wait, you don't like bounty hunter? Oh no, I mean, I really wanted to like it, and then when it came out and I played it, I've never been more disappointed. Holy crap, Battlefront II came out in 2005. Wow. That's a long time. Geez, Louise. This is their E3 announcement yesterday. All the games coming out. Yeah. All the Star Wars games coming out. Star Wars Uno is coming out. Oh, they've already had that. I guarantee it. Well then it would, they don't have the new Star Wars [CROSSTALK] Oh yeah, they're gonna have Chrome Cards and stuff. So Beecham have you not heard about Han Solo's wife? I haven't heard about Han Solo's wife. I keep my ears closed. Well, I regret to inform you that according to the new cannon that they're doing now, which I'm gonna say right here, I'm starting to reject the concept that they can decide what Star Wars canon is. For me, Star Wars canon is those first three movies, and I'm stopping there. Everything else is just an interesting idea. Who's the they here, EA? I think Disney? Well, Disney follows it now. Yeah. So they threw out all the Extended Universe. That doesn't count anymore. But they're doing new canon now, and apparently these comic books they're doing now count as part of the Star Wars universe, which means that it is now canon truth that Han Solo was married at the time he met Princess Leia. What? And the two of them ran into his wife later- Wait, wait. Was he married to Chewbacca? [LAUGH] No, no. Her name's Sana Solo, I believe. And they say she's human in the wiki though she looks like a Kather to me. But anyway So she hates him. She's a bitter ex basically, only they're still married, and she's tracking him down, and he's being kind of hostile about it. Oh, so they're pulling a Blues Brothers? Anyway, It's all very depressing, and I reject it frankly. I got drunk that night. Wait, that's creepy. I have to stop. That's creepy because Carrie Fisher was John Belushi's crazed ex in the Blues Brothers, so is the whole movie gonna be like Chewbacca and in a phone booth then, Carrie Fisher walks in with a flame thrower. they're going to walk thru a mall at some point. Right lets hope so. You said like home movies yeah Carrie Fisher home movies. Yeah. Which could be quite interesting based on her memoir that came out a few years back. Did you guys read any of that? Is that wishful drinking or, Yeah. Sells postcards from the edge. Yeah, sorry. So by the way, that Jet Pack game play looked amazing Yeah. Yeah. Was that Battle Front Two? Me and [INAUDIBLE] were talking about when we first was watching it. It's like, they have jet packs. What a riot. It looks like the kind of jet packs in Master Let me find the jetpack here. And at some point, Admiral Ackbar talks to you, and does not say that it's a trap. Oh, yeah. [CROSSTALK] He could say, it's an ambush! [LAUGH] It's a situation where they unexpectedly, yeah. [LAUGH] It's a sneak attack. It's a quagmire. Yeah. [LAUGH] That's funny, but I think I placed [UNKNOWN] in public. And somebody makes em, it's a trap joke. Like every single night, and has done for the last couple of years. No one ever gets tired of that one. To me it's a trap [UNKNOWN] Honestly. It's, it was funny when Robot Chicken did it, I gotta see it There he is [INAUDIBLE] Unexpectedly, but it's not a trap! [LAUGH] Okay, watch this. Jet pack. Yeah! Whoosh! All right, so there was some- That sold me right there. I'm sold too, yeah. You can do that in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Bounty Hunter has a move called death from above, where you go up in a jetpack and then you fire down into a pit. See, I know I gotta play that again. Bounty Hunter on the GameCube? I still have it on GameCube. Yeah me too. Well my son has it. Oh cool. Sometimes he let's me play it. I have to ask nicely. He's not actually kidding about that. No I'm not. He commandeered all of my old consoles. He has a whole other show. Yeah. So another game from E3, Mass Effect and Dramadad. Anyone follow this one? Am I the biggest Mass Effect fan here, or no? [CROSSTALK] I'm thinking you are. Okay. Oh! [UNKNOWN] [CROSSTALK] No, it's so unimportant, carry on. Show the thing. [LAUGH] So, basically this is set after the controversial end of Mass Effect 3. I think long after, and it's definitely not showing Shepard. Obvious reason. There in a new. That Johnny Cash? This music selection's kind of weird. It is in face Johnny Cash. They credited it at the bottom. Yeah so. What's the significance of the music selection for this [CROSSTALK]? I think it's because it's a wild frontier. You're in a new galaxy. You're exploring. But you know Yeah I know, yeah. Honestly I didn't really get very much from this trailer except that it's supposed to look gorgeous, and there will be jet packs. And you're still in N7, there's a close up. You know, hm hm, There's a close up on the shirt, you're still in N7, but, you know why we're, they haven't really told us yet who we're supposed to care about or why, or what's going on. It's just sort of another mass spec game. In mass spec we have planet. And here we go. Boom. He just shows up at a planet, pulls out his gun. Says yep I'm done here. I'm going to shoot the universe. [LAUGH] Okay. There you go. Limited jet packing. I'd still take limited jet packing. That's not the main character [INAUDIBLE] said by the way. Oh, really? Yeah, they said more on that later. So I don't know why they chose to feature this- That's a cool jet pack move right there. Sometimes you get up near the top of the stairs. You're just like, geez, you know? Just need that little boost to get you all the way up. Exactly. This is the first boost and punch type of jet pack rather than the flying [INAUDIBLE] jet pack which I think is- I think it's more practical. more practical. None of that was gameplay, was it? No, that was the trailer. No, It was was all rendered. It was the trailer, yeah. They say that they're using the engine that they're planning to use in the game. But it was something funny. It was like, this represents their goals for the gameplay. Yeah. Which tells you what- Yeah. [LAUGH] it means that after people hack the crap out of it. Way back Yeah, and modify it. yeah. And modify it. It's actually a 16 bit game. But if they could do that, they would. Mass Effect [UNKNOWN] the cinema. Does that exist yet? It should. I feel like I can remember some ads back in the 90s for Nintendo, Super Nintendo games, where they had you know, movie Cinematic quality trailers, and then there's no indication of what the actual 16-bit is going to look like. And I remember being very disappointed. Like the old Atari games. Like if you looked at the cover art on those. Right. It was like amazing. There was like oh my god, you have like this magic wand, and you're like getting rid of it, and like, you know, you're a square. Or Barbies. Yeah. Actual Barbie, drawn Barbie. Yeah. [LAUGH] That was so relevant everyone. [LAUGH] [UNKNOWN] Now that I think of it, the only game that doesn't work that way is the original Mega Man because the cover art was so bad, it's like well the game's gotta be awesome. They clearly didn't hire a good artist. [LAUGH] That's true. I don't know man, some of the Pac-Man covers. Creepy looking. Like that's for real. Someone said expectations were low. Yeah. That's what's different about today's gamer. Today's gamer you look at a trailer like that, and you're like oh the game could be this awesome; But when we were kids. Kids, you see like the Super Nintendo commercial. Then you're like, I'm going to get to do that and then it's two dots fighting a square. [LAUGH] So when you think about it, we had to learn less about- I'm surprised that's not a game right now. Two dots fighting a square. [LAUGH] I can see that on Steam. [LAUGH] I'm launching an indy gogo for it, actually. There you go. Bet you it'll go faster then that movie. Two dots and a square. If it doesn't work as a game, it'll work as an 80s sitcom. Two dots, one square. [LAUGH] I'm the square. [LAUGH] Coming this fall to ABC. [LAUGH] So, before we started the show, we started talking about all these games coming out of E3 and Steven then feverishly loaded every trailer that he could. So, now that we've got a couple of minutes left, what announcement out of E3 Space related or not is most exciting so Steven can play some [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGH] So we saw the, I'm just gonna talk about this HaloLens thing. Oh yeah. Oh my God.>>Oh God [CROSSTALK] So cool, so the HaloLens is this piece of gear you wear on your head. You wear it like glasses, right. And it's made by Microsoft. And they did a really cool A demo of it at E3. It's augmented reality. Yeah. This was the Minecraft thing. Yeah, okay. So imagine having a Mario level on your table. Let me just fast forward it here real quick. This is like This is kinda like Microsoft's Google Glass but it actually, they designed it for things that make sense. Yeah, it's like a hologram, VR kinda thing. Watch they put this level into this table here. This is the coolest thing ever. I would play Mario like this. I would stand at a table and play Mario like Wow. So, what I picture this for is D&D. Yeah! That guy's the dungeon master, you're the little helpless little person walking around, and he starts destroying stuff all around you. Lightning Strike. Magic Missile. So, she's playing the game holding a tablet, and that's her character in the game, right there. That's so cool. Just imagine. Pan around for different viewpoints. People making games could use this too. Yeah. It's so easy. God mode. Yeah. Follow the player. I can zoom in and out for a better perspective The sad part is somebody's gonna use this to make an adult film. [LAUGH] Oh, yeah. Totally. I'm humping your mine cars. Stay on that beat, Danny. [LAUGH] That's why I'm here, really. I went to a talk on hacking the Kinnex to do porn one time. Oh yeah? Yeah, that was like two years ago, too, so. Yeah, there's the Oculus Rift, there's all kinds. Oculus Rift. They always innovate. That's true. A lot of money. So wait, are they moving the table, or just moving around. I think he is moving the table. See how he grabs it, pulling it around? It's pulling the level around. Oh, he's pulling the level around. Okay, cool. None of this is really happening. [LAUGH] So weird. So again, when you buy this, it'll be just 16 bit. [LAUGH] They're going to do the part where they lift it up now. Oh yeah. That would come in very handy. It tells you where you can dig for resources and stuff. And there's this whole underground. Oh look at that. That's so cool. It kind of reminds me of Jurassic World when, you know, there's all those holograms of dinosaurs-in the visitors center. Oh yeah. In the visitors center. I see it, I"m on my way there now. And, you know, just, be such a cool learning tool. I'm blazing some [UNKNOWN] I can blow my way into the stronghold. I can't use the light You need sixteen block She's not worried bout conserving resources. I think they need better sound effects for this minecraft games. do the users program the sound effects, or how does that work? No, it comes with, I think you can get, I know somebody has done Mods and stuff where you can, somebody added eight bit sounds. So, it actually will sound like an Atari game when you are shooting creepers and stuff. I'm pretty sure you can change the sounds if you want. Did he just, what he. He just did a lightning strike on the pig and make it a zombie pig man. Like you do. Oh we lost Eric. Oh. No, I'm still here. Okay. I was just having video issues. Well, that's about all the time that we have. We have one more awesome trailer or anything that we want to go out on. Well everyone's really excited about this The Last Guardian game. I don't know much about it. Do you guys know anything about it? Oh yeah, this is one that's been in development hell for like forever. a millennium It was kind of a big surprise yesterday. Everyone was like, Oh my God. Yeah I read an article last year saying you know this was never going to happen, we should all just accept that, and here's why that's okay. Yeah But it didn't happen. Yeah, so what is this game about? I don't even know. [CROSSTALK] Probably about the guy, he's the last guy who's a guardian. Which is a guardian. The last guardian. [CROSSTALK] Wait, wait, is the the necessary when you say last? I mean In what sense? As opposed to [CROSSTALK] [LAUGH] Oh my God, are there shirts that say stop grammar time? There have to be. So this trailer made Scott Stein very sad. Cause he's all by himself? No, no, he's not by himself. That's the thing. He's got this friend who may be dying. The chihuahua raptor. Kinda clumsy. Scott called it a giant puppy dragon, but chihuahua raptor works too. Yeah. Anyway, so they're friends, and apparently it's all very tragic Okay, I'm gonna-. He's cat, he's part cat, so he's purring. Does he have emerald horns? Yeah. [LAUGH] Or at least horn nubs. Horn nubs. Anyway, so this was just a game play demo. You know- I don't know anything about this game. It's looks like a little guy. All I know is that it's just been in the works forever. That's all I'm saying. This looks like high definition Monument Valley on acid. Yeah. [LAUGH] I keep thinking of The NeverEnding Story. Yeah. Yeah. So he's supposed to be sad and touching, and that kind of thing which I was wondering if it was based on the Last Unicorn, in a way. Oh, yeah. Or if George R R Martin wrote Pete's Dragon. [LAUGH] Look what happened to [UNKNOWN] Did you read that interview where George Martin, he was saying that when he read of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, he thought that Tolkien's plan was to pick all the characters off, one by one. [LAUGH] And he genuinely thought Frodo was dead when [UNKNOWN] on him. I think that really tells you something about his mind and the kind of stories he writes. [LAUGH] I think so. I know that was off topic but I just wanted to get that out there. It's funny, we were going to talk about Game of Thrones last night. So last night I watched the finale and that was my first Game of Thrones episode ever. How you feeling? And the only, I enjoyed it. It was funny because the only preparation that any of my friends ever gave to me was "The first thing you need to know about Game of Thrones is that George R. R. Martin is a Cruel Bastard." [LAUGH] And so I went into it with that, and I'm like Yeah, that's pretty much. Did it make any sense to you? No, cuz I didn't know any of the characters, or you know. I mean, I know John Snow. John Snow? Did I say that right? Yeah. [CROSSTALK] Right now. I know about John. I look like my dad. [LAUGH] I know about John Snow. So that was the weird part, knowing that I kind of I could see a certain moment coming, but it still was like, oh, that was if I'd been up to this point, I'd probably be crying right now. [LAUGH] But, no, it was yeah So that was my George R. R. Martin story. Yeah, do you think that if George R. R. Martin were in charge of the Lord of the Rings universe, the Hobbit race would be extinct by now? Yeah. Yes. That would be the way he would handle it. Unquestionably. Arwen would be raped and then dead. Frodo's head would be on a stick somewhere. Mm hm. And on that note, [LAUGH] [CROSSTALK] Yeah. [LAUGH] Put his head on a stick, yeah I like that.
