The Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-Band router best suits a crowded home
[MUSIC]
Hi, guys.
**** Ngo here, and this is the RT-3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router from ASUS.
Now, this one here is ASUS answer to the R-8000 from NETGEAR right here.
And EA 9200 from Linksys right here.
These three are the trio of AC 3200 router on the market.
They all have a three band.
One 2.4 gigaband and two.
Five to the hood band.
Each of the band has one access point so the Asus right here has one 2.4 gigahertz access point that cap at 600 megabits for second and two 40 hertz access point.
Each cap at 1300 megabits per second, making a total bandwidth of 3200 megabits per second at any given time, so the router here is expressing how we're going have a lot of five gigahertz clients and doing a lot of local wi-fi network intensive tasks.
such as media streaming, backing up, or data sharing.
If you just want to share the internet or stream Netflix video, this one here is overkill.
Now, physically, this one here is the a router with six detachable antennas.
Just by the big design here, it comes with the usual four land ports and one WAN port.
There would be less space to put more LAN ports here, but there's not [UNKNOWN] unfortunately.
Now the router comes with two USB ports.
The 2.0 port is on the back here.
But the 3.0 port is actually on the front, which is a bit odd.
On the inside Asus here runs a powerful dual core 1.0 gigahertz processor.
256 megabyte system memory and 128 megabyte.
Flash memory.
This thing is powerful.
It has a very nice and robust web interface that's fun to use, and many unique feature include the ability to turn one of these lan ports into a second wan port in case you want to hook to a, two separate internet connections.
At the same time, the [INAUDIBLE] also comes with a traffic monitoring tool an adaptive [INAUDIBLE] and the ability to protect your network from not just hackers, but also viruses.
And when [INAUDIBLE] with an extra hard drive.
Powerful network server with lots of other features.
In testing the router did really well with fast wi-fi speeds, long range, and stable signal.
Still though I am not sure it's worth the price of 3. $300.
To find out more on this why don't you check out my full review at www.cnet.com.
You know, if you can afford it, it doesn't hurt to have it.
Actually a great router.
And if you ask me to choose which one to have among these three I would pick the Asus, because it has great feature, but mainly because I actually have them all simultaneously.
And that's because, I'm [INAUDIBLE] and this has been the first look at the RT- ac3200 tri-band wi-fi router from Asus.
