CNET News Video: Tech Minute: Make your smartphone Halloween-ready

1:03 /

Everyone's favorite spooky holiday is right around the corner. In this Tech Minute, CNET's Kara Tsuboi reports on the best Halloween apps for music, haunted houses, and more to help you get into a ghoulish mood.

Nothing says Halloween like eerie sound effects. By downloading the 99-cent DJ Halloween app, you can access a dozen classic noises. Everything from creaking doors to meowing cats to classic organ noises. Touch the icon to play once or even create your own playlist for customized spookiness. A fun app anytime of the year but especially relevant now is the Dark Haunts Haunted Site Locator App. Enter your location and it will show you the nearby haunted locations with details on why they're so spooky. The app has more than 3,000 places in its database and cost 99 cents. Finally, freak out your friends with the free Zombie Booth Light App. Snap a picture, and then have fun making yourself look like the walking dead. Now that is more trick than treat. Happy Halloween. In San Francisco, I'm Kara Tsuboi, CNET.com for CBS News.
