CNET News Video: Tech Minute: Golf tech that will improve your game

1:01 /

Golf may be one of the oldest sports, but it does seem to improve with new advances in technology. Better engineered clubs have refined our swings, and fancier golf carts can make playing more enjoyable. In this Tech Minute, CNET's Kara Tsuboi reports on some techy tools that are sure to better your game.

Want to play golf like a professional on the budget of popper, then try downloading PGA TOUR Caddie onto your iPhone or Android. This 30-dollar app gives players insight at over 40,000 golf courses worldwide with GPS distance tracking on greens, close-up hole images, and 3D flyovers to show club recommendations. It truly is like having a caddie in your pocket. If you're after tips and tricks, try downloading the free Golf Channel Academy app that also works with both types of phones. This app features professional golf lessons that you can purchase from within the app. It even gives you the chance to buy a customized lesson with tips specific to your swing. Finally, try the $90 SensoGlove for tips on how to improve your grip. The leather glove has built-in digital sensors that guide golfers into the perfect swing before bad habits have a chance at forming. With this golf tech, you'll be swinging like Tiger in no time. In San Francisco, I'm Kara Tsuboi, CNET.com for CBS News.
