CNET News Video: Tech Minute: Enhance photos with sound

1:02 /

When sharing photos with your friends and family, why not add a sound effect or a voice caption to narrate what they're looking at? In this Tech Minute, CNET's Kara Tsuboi reports on two of her favorite smartphone apps that allow you to include sound with images.

Sound plus photos creates a powerful visual for your friends and family to enjoy. PhotoBlab is a wonderful new app that lets you create slideshows with audio. It also functions like a social network so people can follow you and you can follow others. After downloading the free app and signing in, you can start creating your Blab. Take photos or choose from an existing album. Use the manage tool to arrange them into your specific order and add filters to give each photo a different look. The free app gets you 10 seconds of audio. For a $0.99 upgrade, you get 2 minutes. Right now, PhotoBlab is only available for iPhones. If you're not keen on the social networking part of PhotoBlab, then perhaps the free app, Videolicious is for you. Choose up to 10 images, arrange them in the right order and then record and a narration of a minute or less to tell your friends about that awesome trip. Videolicious also has business plans to create longer videos with more photos, perfect for a sales pitch. In San Francisco, I'm Kara Suboy, cnet.com for CBS News.
