Rafe Needleman weighs in on the Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi scale.
Hi, this is Rafe Needleman from CNET at the Fitbit booth at Pepcom event. You guys are probably familiar with this. This is the Fitbit that you clip on to your belt and it records how many steps you take, your elevation and basically how active you are, also your sleep. Very interesting little device, but now Fitbit has come up with a new product which is a scale. A Wi-Fi battery powered scale. You put this in your bathroom, you step on it everyday and it records how much you weigh and sends it over Wi-Fi to the Fitbit web service which correlates that data with what you're doing with your Fitbit pedometer. So it will tell you how much you walk, how much you weigh. It also measures your body fat index through conductive stuff on the scale itself and will give you badges if you're losing weigh. It will track what you eat and show you how much weight you're gaining or losing... and tell it all to you on the website. It's called the Fitbit Aria. It comes out in April for $129 and if you want, you can do pre-orders right now. This is Rafe Needleman from CNET.
