Sony's latest Walkman MP3 player offers wireless Bluetooth audio, exceptional headphones, video playback, subscription music support, and long-haul battery life. The interface could use some personality, but if you're searching for one of the best-soundin

^B00:00:00 [ Music ] >> Hey. I'm Don Bell, senior editor for digital, audio, and MP3. And we are taking a first look at the Sony NWZ-A820Z. The NWZ-A820 is a next generation of the NWZ-A18 series, which we loved so much last year. So compared to last year's model, the A18, the NWZ-A820 has a bigger screen. It's a 2.4-inch QVGA screen. And it's a bigger body as well. It's also a little bit blockier, which is kind of a design feature I don't mind. I kind of like it. It's a little more masculine looking, somehow. It's got three great things going for it as far as features are concerned. It's got great audio playback, including AAC, MP3, and WAV and WMA formats, included VRM protected WMA formats. It has video playback capability, including MPEG 4 and H264 video standards. It's got a photo viewer. the A820 series has built-in Bluetooth streaming audio. So you can use this with a pair of Bluetooth audio headphones. It's really easy to set up. Believe in blink, this really cool blue little blinking edge. Other extras that come with the A820 are a great pair of EX Sony headphones. Another little touch that we like that comes with the A820 series is a built in kickstand. You can set it up so you can watch videos. Another thing that we really love about the Sony NWZ-A820 series is sound quality. Sony MP3 players have always had great sound quality, and the A820 is no different. The A820 has outstanding battery life as well. It's rated at 36 hours for audio playback and 10 hours for video playback. One of the things we don't like about the NWZ-A820 is that it uses a proprietary USB connection. Compared to something like, you know, iPod Classic, it's much smaller, much slimmer, and has a bigger screen. So we like this better for video playback. So I'm Donald Bell, and that was a first look at the Sony NWZ-A820. ^M00:01:53 [ Music ]
