First Look: Sony EX523 series

1:42 /

The Sony EX523 series produces a solid though workmanlike picture at a price that competes well against similarly-featured LED TVs.

Hi, I'm Todd (Penabrew?) with a review of the Sony EX523. If you're looking for a television then $1000 is a real sweet spot at the moment and there are plenty of excellent television to be had to be price. The Sony EX523 comes in 3 different sizes a 32 inch, 40 inch and a 46 inch and all can be had for under a grand online. The EX523 is a replacement for the 520 which came out earlier in 2011 and the main difference is the TV has on board WiFi as a result to 523 comes with all of the internet content that Sony control (??). You get premium services like Netflix, Joloplus and Amazon plus many others. Sony design haven't changed much from last year and the EX is still looking with it's metal gray finish but hardly eye catching for the price the (??) Sony LED is able to get decent picture quality straight out of the box provided that you use to cinema preset. You'd side by side with a 3d carrying EX720, we found it well the 523, was actually cheaper. It has a the (??) of picture of the 2 but slightly better black label. The TV does fall down though in 2 ways. With our review model showing some of the worst backlight (??) we've seen in a while and black for more blue than actually black in both performance and price. This TV sits in the middle of the pack but if you're looking for a TV for a bedroom or second room. This could be a good option. This is the entire penal review with the Sony EX523 television.
